Graduating from Glasgow University with a degree in English and French, being a teacher wasn't really on my 'to do' list yet somehow I keep finding myself surfing the educational wave. My son will appreciate this is as close to exercising as I get!

 

After teaching English as a foreign language at two universities in Poland, running a commercial sewing company in Wroclaw and helping out in the family record shop - naming a dance section 'Bouncy House' wasn't one of my better ideas! - my love of books, languages and children inspired me to set up a children's book-selling business specialising in bilingual books.

 

In 2007, I plunged headfirst into the world of self-publishing with my company Ablekids Press. At the moment my focus is on picture books which have been translated into 16 languages. Since Christmas 2017 I have had a shiny, new office on Market Brae Steps in Inverness and sometimes it's actually open.
